In a rare and much-anticipated gathering, the Multi Business Solutions team came together in Minneapolis this month for two dynamic days of team building, reflection, and professional development. Fourteen team members, along with CEO Megan Beckler, traveled from across the Midwest to connect face-to-face. We spent time building team synergy, reflecting on our work, and strengthening our culture in alignment with the MBS vision.
Day 1: Collaboration, Clarity, and Connection
Our first day together was designed as a focused team day, bringing together everyone to collaborate, learn, and grow. We were happy to utilize Workbox Workspace for our team to gather. The agenda was packed with meaningful sessions, starting with a warm welcome and an energizing ice breaker, setting the tone for open dialogue and connection.

We took a deep dive into Customer Service Standards and a thoughtful review of recent client survey results, reinforcing the team’s shared commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

After lunch, we explored “Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in Action,” considering how we show up and if our internal emotions align with the external emotions seen by others. We believe that self-awareness and empathy enhance both internal collaboration and client relationships.

A highlight of the afternoon was a session on the MBS Vision and Six Critical Questions, which gave the team clarity on where the organization is heading and why it matters. Teams then engaged in a strategic discussion on target markets and client profiles, helping us to better understand who we serve and how to best meet their needs.

The day wrapped with updates to the employee handbook, work policies, and key metrics, giving everyone clarity on expectations and how success is measured.
Of course, no team day is complete without a little fun! The talented Meghan Doll Photography captured professional team photos, and the group shared a relaxing evening supper followed by a few spirited rounds of mini golf, complete with laughs and lighthearted competition.

Day 2: Empowered by Team Women
On Day 2, the MBS team attended the Team Women Leadership Conference—our second time participating in this inspiring annual event. Surrounded by bold and purpose-driven professionals, our team soaked in empowering talks from exceptional speakers who spoke on leadership, resilience, and finding your purpose.

The energy in the room was contagious, and the conference provided each of us with personal takeaways and professional inspiration. It was a fitting close to our two-day retreat—reinforcing why we do what we do, and how we do it together.

Here are some of the inspiring quotes and thoughts from the speakers at the TeamWomen Conference:
Christine Fruechte, Chair of Colle McVoy and Board Chair of The Minnesota Star Tribune
- The best way to predict the future is to create it.
- There is no such thing as a dead end, only the opportunity to change the plan.
- Seize the opportunities that present themselves, even if you are not sure where they will take you.
- Leadership isn’t just about vision, it’s about seeing people at every level.
- Take care of your people, and they take care of the rest.
- Life is too short not to do what you love.
- Your #1 client is your family.
Jill Palmquist, Vice President Chief Story Telling Officer at Life Time

- Shift the question of “What am I doing with my life?” to “What am I doing with my time?” and “How am I moving through my life?”
- Become the sum of a healthier human existance:
- MOVE: Movement is medicine. Movement is nature.
- NOURISH YOURSELF: More protein – more water. Also nourish your soul/spirit. Know yourself. Fill yourself with positive thoughts.
- REST: Unplug to reset – just like a computer! Protect your sleep.
- STRENGTH: Gain physical and mental strength. We get strong by tearing down muscle and rebuilding it – same with things we go through mentally.
- SOCIAL: Practice aggressive friendship to find and keep your people. Be the first: the first one to smile at someone, give a compliment, make a call, schedule a coffee date, etc.
- Time and health are our most precious, finite resources.
Tiffany Mattick, Owner of “There She Grows”
- Remember your 8 year old self – she knows the way.
- Make a list of what fuels you (or gives you energy) and drains you (or takes away your energy). The list is the map to find your way back to yourself.
- Think about the people you admire – usually there’s a common thread of how you are like them and this can provide more signs to your roadmap for success.
- A “yes” in your body feels completely different than a “no.”

Empower Leadership Academy

Katy Burke, Executive Director of TeamWomen, interviewed Vivian Besbesansio, a fifth grader, about her experience attending Empower Leadership Academy, a program for girls in grades 5-12. LaToya Burrell, General Counsel for Zinpro Corporation and Executive Director of Anderson Foundation, helped sponsor and coordinate the event for girls in the Twin Cities area. They learned tools to identify their strengths and values, build confidence and resilience, and set and achieve goals. This program holds a special place in our hearts, as MBS has proudly sponsored a leadership academy for girls in the Fergus Falls area.
Maryjane Williams, Chief Marketing Officer of JonnyPops

- Say “yes” to a new adventure. If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.
- Share your dreams with a friend.
- Be better than you were yesterday.
- Be the best part of someone’s day.
- When you hit the pillow tonight, will you be happy with how you lived today?
- Hold the door for the next person.
- Be + Do: Who you are is more important than what you do.
Looking Ahead
This gathering reminded us of the power of human connection—especially in a remote work environment. While technology keeps us productive, moments like these fuel trust, belonging, and shared purpose. We returned to our home offices recharged and reconnected, with a clearer vision and deeper commitment to the clients and teammates who make MBS so special.
With a remote team, we’ve had to be very intentional about developing and maintaining our company culture. Getting together in person helps our team stay connected and allows for deeper relationship building. I’m thankful our entire team took time from their regular schedule to prioritize this event. Ultimately, we’re recharged to serve our clients better for 2025 and beyond.” -Megan Beckler, owner and CEO of Multi Business Solutions
Here’s to building more bridges, celebrating wins, and growing together—even from miles apart.
